Operation Arrakis: Sprawling Part Two

by Sylvana

Sci, sensitive to Sylvana's wishes to forego sedation, clued her in to the briefing through the comlink. She sat, amidst crates, with the three-legged Rogue purring happily in her lap, while she listened to what would happen. She and Arrek were to stay with him, while Thayer was to go provide help to Becki, Three, in her time of need. Sylvana voiced that it might be a good idea for someone to go with him, to watch his back, and Sci grudgingly allowed her the job.

And so, when she was clued in to their having landed, she shut Rogue up in the supply room, with some water and meats she found in the galley, and dashed down the ramp with the others. They split up, she and Thayer heading off in one direction, while Sci and Arrek headed in another. Soon, blaster bolts were whizzing over their heads, and they had to shoot back or be killed.

Adrenaline began pulsing through her veins. Her eyes flashed a cold grey as tunnel-like vision enveloped her. Everything seemed to slow down, somewhat, and she saw a blaster raised unerringly in Thayer's direction. Her voice lost in the chaos of the light-fight, she sprinted forward and tackled the monarch to the ground, the bolt singing his hair as they fell. She flashed him a feral grin, "Go!" She pushed him up and out of the way, covering for him as he dashed into the night.

The blaster Sci'd given her for use rang out as she lost sight of Thayer, and found herself retreating toward the other members of Terra Group. She saw three men stalking the Major and her brother, and with a wordless yell, fell upon them as though they were her own personal prey. There was a frenzy of feet and fists, when three flashes of a blue light dropped them. She looked up, her eyes clearing to a warm brown when she heard Arrek yell her name, and saw his and Sci's eyes above their blasters.

A flash of disappointment rang through her as she grudgingly accepted their help, and without explanation of why she was back with them, they darted along to help their fellow teammates.
