Project Boussh: What Happened? by Vickie Boyd Vickie slowly regained consciousness. The last thing she remembered was heading to pick up Face when a turbolaser shot hit the ship. Around her, wires were sparking and the bulkhead had crushed inward. She unbuckled herself from the chair she was in and dropped down to the floor. The ladder up to the turret had been crushed. She looked around at the mess that was once *Red Home*. Smoke poured from the direction of the engines. Moving towards the bridge, she saw movement coming through the bay. She pulled her lightsaber from her waist and hid behind a piece of bulkhead. When the figure got within range, she stepped out and lit her 'saber. The figure pulled a blaster from his waist. "Wedge," she asked quizzically. "Vickie, are you ok?" He put his blaster away. "A few cuts and bruises, but I'm ok. Have you seen anyone else?" "Not yet." "I was on my way to the bridge. Let's go." They turned and moved towards the front of the ship. Vickie tapped into the Force, hoping to regenerate as she stretched her senses to maximum. She hoped to hear anyone moaning in pain or crying for help. The only sounds that came to her ears were the creaking of the bulkhead and the crackling of exposed wires. She took cautious steps forward, trying to find the floor. Wedge followed her. He was impressed at how she had immediately taken charge in this situation. Perhaps she had learned a few things. He thought he heard something and stopped. "Wait." She looked towards him as she stepped forward over a pile of debris. Wrong move. Her foot came to rest on a pile of cables strewn across the floor. It slid down the side and she began to fall. "Shit." She dropped her enhanced senses and began to lift herself telekinetically. He reached out to try and help her, only to trip over a piece of bulkhead. He began to turn so he would land on his shoulder, but he never hit the ground. Opening his eyes, he found himself standing upright with Vickie lowering to the floor beside him. "Thanks." "Are you ok," she asked rather sincerely. "I was more worried about you." "I'm ok. Look, *General*. I made a mistake, ok? I admit it. It's my fault we're in this mess. It's my fault the *Red Home* is in pieces. It's my fault there are probably a lot of slaughtered Ewoks out in the forest. It's my fault... Fel crashed into Fel. "But I have learned from my mistake. I will never trust anyone so quickly again." She looked at him hard and thought to herself, *Because I will never use my abilities again after this is over.* She had now surprised him twice. This surprise was not as welcome as the first. She was blaming herself for everything. "It's not all your fault. Look, we need to find the others and make sure they are ok." "I know my priorities, General." She gestured down the hall the way they had been traveling. "We can't go that way. As far as I can tell from the echo, the hall is blocked about 50 meters down. We're going to have to go back to the bay and try another route." Wedge watched her for a moment before stepping aside to let her lead. They walked back to where they had met. She stopped at the doorway, holding up her hand. "We're not alone," she whispered. He looked out to see several troopers wandering through the bay. "I guess we're going to have to defend the ship." She nodded and moved forward, lightsaber at the ready. "Can I help you gentlemen?" "Halt," said the forward trooper. "You're under arrest." "Oh, that is just so cliche'." She telekinetically lifted a piece of metal from the floor and tossed it at the front row of troopers. They screamed and fired, some diving out of the way. Unfortunately, she didn't notice the troops that were on either side. Blaster shots rained around her. She pulled up her blade and began blocking the shots as best as she could. The ones that got through bounced off her Force shield. Wedge popped around the corner and fired a few shots at the troops on the left. He dropped two, but saw many more. "We are extreemly outnumbered," he shouted over the din. "I know, but what else are we supposed to do?" *Thwomp* Vickie looked up. "Oh no. That can't be what I think it is." The stun net opened and fell on top of them. She screamed in pain as the stunning effect of the net assaulted her nerves. It wasn't long before she slumped to the floor unconscious.
