Project Boussh: We Deliver! by Vickie Boyd Vickie looked over the shopping list with a grin. With those in Alison's care, she wasn't sure what to buy and was thankful for the list. She had no idea what kind of food to get an Ewok with an attitude. She pushed her cart through the store. Pash had accompanied her. He pulled a bag of Christmas Oreo's off the shelf and put them in the basket. "What is that for?" Vickie asked. "They look cool." She shook her head and continued on. On the next isle, he put a box of Captain Crunch in. "And those?" "They're swirls." "You are such a child," she mumbled under her breath. Pash added a few more goodies to the basket before she put a stop to it by going to the cash register. "Geez, do you think I'm made of credits or something?" she asked the pilot. He looked chagrined. "Uh, no. I've never seen anything like this before. I wanted to try it." He held a bag of Doritos in his hand. She sighed deeply. "Ok, but that's it. You have to take this stuff to Alison and the others. I'm sure they are about to starve by now." "They're even out of rations?" "I don't think they had any rations." "Oh." Pash looked thoughtful. "How are we all going to get together?" "I'm still working on that." Vickie swiped her credit card and signed the receipt. She thanked the perplexed young girl and pushed the full cart to the car. Twenty minutes later, Pash climbed into the cockpit of his A-Wing. His storage compartment was stuffed full of food. He began the startup sequence and then climbed back down. "Are you sure you want me to do this?" "Yes," Vickie said matter-of-factly. "The A is the fastest vehicle. Myn promised he'd broadcast a signal for you. Make sure you contact us the moment you get there." "I will." He put one hand on the ladder and turned to her again. She smiled. "Yes, I am sure," she said answering his unasked question. "Now go before all that food spoils." With a nod, he turned and pulled himself up the ladder. Vickie backed away so he could lift off and waved. She saw him give a quick salute before tearing off into the night. "May the Force be with you," she said to the cold night air. ********************************************** Pash followed the map closely, staying out of the air lanes. He had to make a slight detour around New Mexico. Vickie thought it would be best for him not to be seen by the military around Area 51. When she explained why, he wholeheartedly agreed. Finding Las Vegas was easy. The sudden brilliant lights in the middle of the desert were a giveaway. From there, he traveled southwest. He had to consult his map when reaching California. Anaheim, in a place called Disney Land, was his destination. Luckily, Myn's signal reached him before he could get lost. "Ace Lead to Wraith Three. Do you copy?" Myn nearly fell out of his chair when his comlink beeped. "Three here. You're already in the area?" "Do you doubt?" "Negative Ace. Um, hang on while I find out where you need to land." Myn turned to awaken Alison. "Hey, Pash is here with the food." "Food?" Kolot sat up quickly. "I go help land ship." He jumped down and headed for the door. "Hold it," Kirney yelled. "We need to find out where, first." The Ewok's shoulders dropped in defeat. He looked at Alison expectantly. Alison peered out the front window of the 'Bago. The lot was empty and there shouldn't be a patrol by anytime soon. "Have him land beside us. It will make it easier to transfer the food over anyway." Myn told Pash where to land and Kolot ran out with a large glow rod to help him. Pash switched to long-range communications and sent a message back to North Carolina. "Have arrived at DL. Will be landing shorty... um, shortly. Damn Ewok. I will call again after meeting with others. Ace out." He lowered the ship beside the large camper. Four humans and a rather strange looking Ewok stood outside awaiting his arrival. He jumped down and landed beside Myn. "Good to see you," he said as he clasped the proffered hand. "We have everything you requested as well as a few extras." "Great," Myn replied. "Let's get this thing unloaded. Kolot, give us a hand." The Ewok jogged over to the ship and unlatched the door to the storage compartment. He pulled out a bag of chips and immediately tore them open. Greedily, he poured the bag into his mouth. "HEY," Dia yelled. "Those are for all of us, little one." Kolot looked back at her with big brown eyes. "I sorry. Me just hungry." All three of the women shook their heads. "He can be such a child sometimes," Kirney explained.
