Project Boussh: Unfortunate Circumstances by Vickie Boyd *Why is it so dark? Oh, because my eyes are closed.* She tried to open her eyes. The muscles wouldn't respond. Panic began to flood through her, until she stopped it. She tried rolling over. "Oh gods, that hurts." Wedge awoke quickly. Vickie had moved. He went over to where she was laying on the cot. Her eyes finally opened. "Gah, light." Her arms limply moved to cover her face. "How do you feel," Wedge asked her. "Like my entire body is asleep." "Now you know what it feels like to be stunned." "I not like." She blinked her eyes and moved her arms more steadily. "Where are we?" "Well, if I remember correctly from the decor, we're in a detention cell aboard a Star Destroyer." She tried to remember what had happened. The *Red Home* had crashed, she started looking for the others before bumping into Wedge, then before they could get far, they were attacked by troopers. "Ok, I take it we must be aboard the _Admonitor_." She sighed. "I can see why you would be here, but what about me?" "Information?" "What information would I have?" She sat up, finally gaining feeling back in her body. It still felt like she had thousands of pins pricking her. He shrugged. She rolled her eyes. "You're a big help. Well, at least now I won't have to steal a ship to get here." "Excuse me?" Her eyes widened as she realized what she had said. Resigned to her fate, she told him, "I was planning to take one of the starfighters once the fighting had lessened and come up here to the _Admonitor_." "And what were you going to do once you got here?" "Sweet talk my way aboard and get Dorset off before I went to do something about the engines and weapons." "Do you really think you would have been able to pull that off?" She put her face in her hands and rubbed her eyes. "I don't know." She ran her hands through her hair. "I hadn't thought it out that well. All I knew was that I needed to come here and confront Brad. I had to correct my mistakes." Wedge put a hand on her shoulder. "That is not the way to correct mistakes. You can't go back and fix everything. Trust me, I know. I wanted to go back and save my parents. It took me years to realize that there would have been nothing I could have done." She looked up. His eyes were sad. "You still went after Loka." He nodded. "And failed. I'm sure you know that. Now, come on. We need to put our heads together to figure out how to get out of here." She jumped down from the cot and landed unsteadily. Wedge helped keep her standing. "Guess my legs aren't awake all the way yet." "Guess not. Have you tried to contact Corran or Mike through the Force?" She shook her head. "It's no use. I'm not as good with telepathy as either one of them. I'm better at telekinesis." He grinned. "I know that first hand." His head snapped towards the doorway. "Sounds like we have company." She looked at the door and frowned. "I have a bad feeling about this."
