Project Boussh: Thoughts of Others by Vickie Boyd Pash sat on the edge of the wall facing the ocean. His long legs dangled over and swung lazily. He looked out over the ocean. The fires were beginning to burn out and the orange haze was less than when they were fighting. His mind, however, was miles away. "You know, if you fell, I wouldn't be able to catch you," a voice said from behind. Pash instantly recognized Corran. "Yeah," he said softly. "But Vickie would." He looked up into the sky. "Do you think she's ok?" Corran dropped down to sit beside the redhead. "Honestly, I have no idea." Pash sighed. He had really grown to like the woman even though she had quite a temper and was arrogant and pigheaded and... "Have you tried to find her through the Force?" The Jedi nodded. "Yeah. I keep finding dark spots which probably means there are lots of ysalamiri on the _Admonitor_." Pash winced. He remembered the scream from when the ship flew over New Hampshire. "I hope she's ok." He looked up in the sky. *Please be ok.* Vickie started awake. She thought she had heard something. Concentrating, she found it. A familiar beacon through the haze. *Pash!* He grabbed Corran's arm. "Did you hear that?" Corran nodded. "She's alive at least." "We've got to save her." He sounded like a desperate man. Corran looked at him. He even _looked_ like a desperate man. "Pash, calm down. We have to let the bacta brigade heal first." Pash noticed Corran looking at where his hand gripped Corran's arm. He looked down and immediately let go. "I'm... I'm sorry." He turned around to look back out at the ocean. " A sudden feeling of claustrophobia washed over her. She opened her eyes and looked through the bacta. Sighing, she remembered where she was and tried to see through the muck. Beyond the walls of the tank, she saw several medical techs wandering around. Directly across from her, she saw Erisi floating in another tank. She smirked as she thought of the thrashing she had given the other woman. A slight pain in her side reminded her quickly of the equal thrashing she had received. Concentrating on the Force, she began to feel her bones knitting as the bacta helped them heal. Looking around again, she saw a familiar form in the tank to her left. She blinked several times, trying to enhance her sight a bit. She gasped as she recognized the form. *Wedge!* His form hung lifeless in the tank. She tried to contact his mind to see how he had been injured. *That's strange,* she thought. *I can't contact him.* As a test, she entered the mind of a technician who passed by. It must be near lunch, because everyone was thinking about food. She tried to contact Erisi and found her to be in pain. Turning back to Wedge, she still found nothing. It was as if he did not exist. It wasn't even like Sci. At least she could feel his heartbeat, just not his mind. She looked around the room to find several more tanks with Wedge look-alike's in them. *Oh no,* she thought. *Clones. Just like Fel.* Corran stood and put a hand on Pash's shoulder. "Just relax. Everything is going to be ok." He turned and walked back into the castle. Hobbie bounded towards him. "Hey Jedi-boy. What's with your arm?" Corran hadn't noticed he was rubbing where Pash had grabbed him. He stopped and looked at the Rogue. He knew Hobbie had a history of falling for lots of women. Maybe... "Vickie spoke to Pash telepathically. Freaked him out. Why don't you go have a talk with him. He needs a friend." Hobbie looked past Corran and nodded. "Sure thing." He jogged over towards Pash. Tears flowed down his face. Why was he feeling like this? He had tried again to contact her, but got no response. A familiar smell wafted to his nose. He turned to see Hobbie approaching. "That didn't take long." Hobbie grinned and dropped beside the A-Wing pilot. "It was only a fracture. My bones are so used to bacta now they almost start mending before the bacta." He looked out at the horizon. "Wow, this is a great view!" Pash sighed and lowered his head. "I just wish Vickie was here." Hobbie nodded. "Corran said she talked to you through the Force." "Yeah." "You really like her, don't you?" Pash blushed. "I don't know what you mean." He laughed. "Come on, I have looked in the mirror before. I have that look quite often. Listen to me, though, get over her fast. She has a husband. Husband's are bad news." "But she's obsessed with me. Haven't you read her stories?" "Fantasy. Everyone has a fantasy girl or boy. Hey, I still think about this Bothan Wes and I met once. Man, she was gorgeous." His looked up at the sky with a big grin on his face. "But the way she acts... it can't be fantasy." Hobbie turned to look at him seriously. "We're fantasy to them. They never knew we really existed until now. Hell, Emily asked us the strangest question when Wes and I got here." He shook his head at the memory. "How could anyone think that about us." "No way. I mean, she flirted with me." He chuckled. "Emily flirted with me and Wes. She's only fifteen. Look, Pash, how do you mean she flirted? Are you sure you aren't confusing the stories with real life?" "No, I mean yes, I mean... oh, I don't know what I mean anymore." They both fell silent. Hobbie looked back out over the water again. "Have you called her husband to let him know she is ok?" He blinked. "No, we didn't know anything until..." "Maybe you should go do that. I'm sure he'd love to know that she was able to contact you, even for the briefest moment." Pash nodded and they both stood. "Yeah, I'll go do that." "Good idea. Just remember, though, who it is that you have fallen for." Hobbie winked and walked off down the wall towards the ships whistling as he went.
