Project Boussh: Prisoner Report by Brad Corletti Subject: 23498110 (Human, Female) "Quiara" Subject 23498110 was recently transported to the _Admonitor_ from Mendellia, Terra. Minimal intelligence was gained. Primary use to Empire is as bait. Subject remains in detention centre, pending further decision. -- Subject: 23498111 (Human, Female) "Dorset Konnair" Subject 23498111 was placed under Stage 1 interrogation immediately upon exiting medical facility. Subject resisted Stage 1 interrogation, repeating only name, rank, and serial number. All questioning was ignored completely. Vital signs indicated recognition to phrases "New Republic" and "Rogue Squadron" but no response to "Major Defel", the objective of the interrogation. Upon review of records Captain Larommi ordered elevation to Stage 2 interrogation. Subject 23498111 resisted narco-interrogation. This ability was later discovered to be as a result of biomodification made during the subject's adolesence. Subject's body eliminates all foreign drugs well before they can take effect. Captain Larommi ordered elevation to Stage 3 - physical interrogation. Grand Admiral Thrawn immediately ordered interrogation cease upon Major Defel's arrival. Subject is now held in the detention centre, pending further decision. -- Brad watched the tactical display with rapt fascination. Holographic imaging, recorded by troop sensors and relayed to the _Admonitor_'s tactical computers, showed the battle unfolding below in a way any terrestrial commander would happily sell his children into slavery for. As the X-wings darted around, he tried vainly to identify one X-wing in particular. Unfortunately at the range he was observing it was impossible to pick out Piggy's snubfighter. Directing his attention to the ground, he noticed something unusual. There were droids fighting down there. His droids. BLRs. Each BLR replaced no less than three human crewmembers, as the droids thought little of pulling continuous shifts, unlike human crewmembers who expected to usually be pulling eight-hour shifts. And while they lost out slightly due to the ridigity of programming, the proportions were not yet high enough that this caused a problem. "Droids as troops?" Brad asked. "But they're not suited for infantry work." I designed them that way. While the technology itself limited that to some extent, I did purposely overlook several key advances. "That's true, in normal circumstances," Commander McEwok grinned. "At the moment we are using them as decoys. Against an armed and ready foe, they are useless. But when a world refuses to pay its rightful duties to the Empire, we like to send down a few shuttles of BLRs. They obey without question, much like stormtroopers. The locals can cause only trivial damage to them. The droids cut down everything they see. The worlds almost always pay up." "Of course," Brad said carefully, keeping his face in check. The mission, he reminded himself. The mission...
