Project Boussh: Magic

Blackness, then:

A white dot in the centre of the screen. It stretches to the edges, then the line expands outwards, leaving a black screen.

With a disk in the centre. 

The disk opens from the centre outwards, it's panels retracting like a dilating pupil. The camera pans backwards as a light flicks on from the centre of the disk. As we pull back, we see the disk is only a few inches across.

The light broadens at the top, until it measures more than two feet across. Suddenly, the planet Terra appears in the beam. It is blue-green, with intricate cloud patterns swirling through its atmosphere.

"This is Terra." It is an American voice, male, young.

"One year ago, it came to the attention of the New Republic that the Empire had begun meddling in the affairs of this world in the Unknown Regions.

"Terra does not have a world government, as such. But the most powerful of its nations was electing a new leader, and the Empire interfered in this process."

CUT TO:
The Admonitor, looming into view on the Hubble telescopes short range sensors.

The screen cuts to static, then to black.

CUT TO:

The hologram of Terra. In the darkness off to one side, we can make out a faint shape. It is SCIFANTASY, the narrator. He steps closer to the light, and we can make out some details. He is wearing a dark flight suit, standard issue. He is of slightly above average height.

"The New Republic was contacted by Terran representatives, who believed Imperial complicity in the dissapearance of one Quiara. Quiara was running what she felt was a fictitious campaign to have New Republic General Wedge Antilles elected leader of the nation. Someone evidently felt the campaign to be a threat, however. Quiara dissapeared.

SCIFANTASY steps closer to the light, but before any more of him can be seen, a bag is pulled over his head. Muffled yells are heard as he is pulled back into the darkness. A hint of dark skin and sharp teeth suggests that one of the kidnappers is a Devaronian.

GARIK 'FACE' LORAN steps into the light. He is dressed as an Imperial Grand Admiral, and his face has been coloured blue.

"Would anyone like to see my etchings?"

FACE ducks as an Ewok is thrown at him.

DIA (Off screen): "Just tell them what this is all about, pretty boy."

FACE grins, then winks at the audience.

"She loves me really. Now...

"Welcome to Project Boussh!"

CUT TO:

A montage, introducing Terra Group. Music plays in the background: Queen's "A Kind Of Magic"

NICK is squatting on his haunches, talking to Ewoks

ALISON is in a mall/splash park throwing starfish at an unseen target

EMILY is playing with a penguin

KRISTY is being pried off of RUSSELL CROWE

MORWEN is throwing a grenade into a cluster of stormies, and looking very happy

JOSH NOLAN is reluctantly watching Ewoks with blasters

VICKIE is hanging upside down, flailing helplessly with her lightsabre

MIKE is tied naked to a wooden frame, and surrounded by Ewoks

POLICRATICUS is running through a lightfight, trying desperately not to drop the priceless artwork he is carrying.

BRAD hanging in mid air between an A-Wing and a B-Wing. His quiff is being tossed around by the wind rushing past him

BECKI is in the palace kitchens, covered in pancake mix, trying to hit several Ewoks with her frying pan. THAYER stands in the background, laughing with RETH and KIRRET

SHARON is behind a steel panel, her fingers crossed, and eyes screwed shut. Behind her, explosions rack the room.

JOSH COCHRAN climbs down from his X-Wing. His legs give out as he touches the floor, and he collapses at the feet of INYRI FORGE.

SCIFANTASY is seen from behind, watching the pre battle breakfast, slowly shaking his head.

CUT TO:

The briefing room: FACE, clothed now in a full X-Wing flight suit and flak plate, stares sombrely over the holo as it changes to Terra once more.

"Whether successful or not, Terra Group kept fighting, against all the odds. They showed remarkable spirit for a group of first time combatants."

CUT TO:

A montage, played out to the background effect of a heart beating, accompanied by the beeping of an EKG monitor. The heart rate increases as the montage plays.

JOSH N'S lightsabre flashes as he wades into a pack of stormies, but he is shot, and collapses to the floor.

Then:

A cabin on the Red Home. VICKIE is battling the Dark Side. Strobe lighting flashes as VICKIE convulses.

VICKIE (gasping): "There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force."

Then:

MIKE lying on a bed in a seedy hotel room. ELASSAR stands vigil over him, but must watch helplessly as MIKE'S body arches upwards, and he screams.

Then:

EMILY and ALISON facing down RETSIM and AHCHAY in a darkened laboratory

Then:

NICK charges towards BRAD, who shoots him

Then:

ALISON lying on the floor. EUGOR ATNER stands above her, swinging his sword down on her prone form.

Then:

JOSH N. runs through a forest, before stopping dead as an AT-ST appears through the trees. The walker fires, and Josh is thrown to the ground

Then:

MIKE in the cloning chamber, silhouetted by the explosions all around him.

MIKE'S profile is seen. He is screaming soundlessly.

Then:

VICKIE, with DORSETT, and WEDGE. She is screaming, her body in the same stance as MIKE'S.

(At this point, the heart is beating loudly, and rapidly.)

Then:

SCI, BECKI ad co. aboard the bridge of the Admonitor, as fire blossoms

Then:

QUIARA, alone in her cell

(There is no heartbeat, only silence)

Then:

The briefing room. FACE lies unconscious on the floor. Either side of the holo stand THRAWN and EUGOR ATNER. THRAWN is impassive, ATNER begins to laugh wildly, maniacally.

(The EKG sounds, atonally)

CUT TO:

Black screen, silence, then:

PROJECT BOUSSH: The Search For Quiara
