Project Boussh: Epilogue: Kelly's Heroes by Vickie Boyd General Wedge Antilles sat at the desk in the makeshift office Thayer had put him in. He was going through data disks of everyone's debriefings. He tapped Wes' disk absently on the desk. He looked up as someone knocked on the door frame. Vickie stood rigidly at the door. She had finally gotten some comfortable clothes to wear, a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. Her goggles were still perched upon her nose, the only thing that made Wedge know it really was her. "Yes, Captain?" "May I speak with you, General?" "Sure, Vickie." He waved her in to the chair seated before the desk. "How can I help you?" She sat down and lay her hands in her lap. "Well, sir, I have been speaking with Kelly and we were wondering if maybe she could go back to Coruscant with you and the others." "Why would she want to do that? Surely Terra is as much her home as it is yours." Wedge leaned forward on his desk. "That's the thing. It isn't. Most of her memories are actually my, um..." She blushed furiously. "My fantasies," she finished quietly. "That explains quite a few things." He shuffled through a few flimsies until he found the one he was looking for. "Kelly Antilles, younger sister of Wedge Antilles. Has Force sensitivity. Is a freighter pilot for the Rebellion. Shall I continue?" He looked back up. Somehow, she blushed deeper. "No sir," she whispered. "Sci showed me your web page. Very good stories. You really hit everyone close. I'm impressed." "Thank you." "So, if she has these memories, you feel she would be more comfortable on Coruscant." "Yes." "What does she think?" "To be honest, she's the one who brought it up. I agreed with her, because she does need to learn to use the Force correctly. And she's a really good pilot." "And she's smitten with Pash." He leaned back in his chair. A grin crossed her face. "That too." He crossed his arms and looked at her. She was tired and haggard looking, even in the comfortable clothes. He felt she was smitten with Pash as well. "What about you? Do you want her to go?" "Yes. That way at least one of us can..." she stopped. She couldn't tell THE TAWG that she would be living out her fantasies. "One of you can..." he prompted. "Nothing... it's nothing. So, is it ok with you?" He looked at her with narrowed eyes. "What if she snaps again?" "Snaps?" She looked at him curiously. "She tried to kill me, Vickie." "Oh, that." She waved it off. "That's another reason she needs to go with you." "So that she can succeed next time?" Vickie's eyes widened. "No. Maybe someone can help her? Corran or Luke could maybe extract it from her mind." "Have you talked to Corran about that?" "Um, no. But..." He held up a hand to belay her. "Not to worry. You can take it up with him later, when you ask him to be Kelly's Jedi Master." Vickie blinked. "Jedi Master? Corran?" A laugh escaped her lips and she slapped her hands over her mouth. She thought about it a little more. That would be logical. She would have to get help from some others about telekinesis, since Corran can't do that. She moved her hands. "You know, that's a good idea." Wedge nodded. Corran might not like it, but it would be good for both of them. "So, was that a 'yes, Kelly can go back with us to the GFFA'?" He looked at her curiously for a moment. "Um, yes." A whoop of joy, cut off quickly, was heard from the hall. Vickie didn't even flinch. She smiled and stood. "Thank you, General." "Call me Wedge, ok?" He stood and smiled. "Thank you, Wedge then. If you will excuse me, I'll go tell Kelly." Wedge nodded, knowing full well that Kelly already knew. "Oh, and Vickie..." "Yes?" "Congratulations on the promotion." She knew he must have had something to do with it. "Thank you." With a wink, she turned and left the office. Wedge sat back down and proceeded to tap the disk on the table once again.
