Project Boussh: Just Don't Know when to Shut Up and Slice by Alison Sky Kirney took point. Alison took rear. Morwen walked between them, the computer hacking equipment in her arms. They had walked through the halls like this, working their way deeper into the belly of the ship. "See, now if this was a nice ship, they would have a directory at every major location, helping lost people find their way around," Alison muttered to herself, making sure that her sword was hidden from onlookers with her body. The officer's uniforms that they had "acquired" helped a lot from their movements in the ship. After all, the Addy was a BIG ship. People were going to see them, especially when they had to walk a good distance to get to the computer systems. It was a shame that the officers who had worn the uniforms previously hadn't felt that letting the three ladies wear their clothes was a good idea. If they recovered from the beating that Kirney and Alison had given them, they might realize that the ability to share is a virtue. "This isn't one of your malls," Kirney stated. "There is no floor guide." "It was a joke," Alison replied. "For something to be a joke, it is required to be funny." Alison's eyes burned and she bit her lip from further comment, instead just ran her finger along the hilt of her sword. Morwen sighed and shifted the weight of the datapad and case in her arms. She had no idea what was going on between the two, but she had heard nothing but snappy comebacks at each other since they had boarded the Red Home. The incident with the coolant on the Red Home had, ironically, flared Kirney's temper more. She had fixed her hair, and was breathing right again, but she wasn't going to get the smell off her body for a long time. The smell would cause people to look in their direction more than Morwen would have liked, but it was one factor she would have to deal with. "How much further do you think?" Morwen asked, wanting to break the bitter silence that had come up again. She could deal with things being quiet, but not a strained quiet that seemed to plague the two warriors. "If this thing is right," Kirney stated, looking down at the "acquired" datapad she had gotten with the uniform, "it should be two more sectors and a level down." "And if it's wrong?" Alison asked. "You think you can do better?" Kirney spat. "Did I say that?" Alison replied quickly. "I just asked if it is wrong, what do we do next." They had stopped in the middle of a not brightly-lit hallway, an offshoot from the main corridor. Kirney turned to face Alison; her teeth set in a snarl. Alison kept her stance neutral. Morwen could guess that while Kirney had some undying hatred for the sword woman, Alison was only angry at the situation. She made a note in her mind to ask Kristy if she knew what the problem really was between the two. The two started in on each other again, and Morwen just shook her head. She didn't want to get between them, especially if she didn't know the lion's den that she would be stepping into. So while they fought with rushed voices, Morwen turned and examined the wall in the hallway. "You know, maybe if you just lay off the high and mighty bit for a few minutes, we might be able to-" "I am NOT high and mighty, I just happen to know my way better than you th-" "Know your way? When the hell have YOU been in a super star destroyer?" "That's classified." "Sithspit." "When did you start talking like you come from my world, anyway?" "You and your friends just happen to rub off on me." "Too bad other things didn't rub off…" "And what is THAT supposed to mean?" "Forget it." "No, I want to know. What did you mean by that?" "It means that you are a-" -=CRASH=- Alison and Kirney spun around, each drawing their weapons and facing the direction the noise had come from. Halfway down the hall, there was a hole in the wall. The two women moved together, making their way to the opening. Just as they were there, Morwen popped out then threw up her hands to defend herself from the blaster raising at her face. "It's me!" she said. Kirney lowered her blaster, and Alison let her sword lay onto her shoulder. "What happened?" Alison asked. "While you two were arguing, I noticed a crack along the wall. I ran my fingers along it, and heard a click." Morwen explained everything with a speedy voice, excitement filling her words. "I tried to push on it, but nothing happened. So finally I decided to charge the wall, and it opened just before I hit it, and I went tumbling through, tripping over the hacking gear as I went." Kirney knelt down to examine the datapad they had been given. She sighed. "You stepped right through it." Morwen looked at her, abashed. "Opps." "Don't worry," Alison said, and she swung her laptop around on its shoulder strap. "I've got all the information copied on here." "But I doubt your laptop has a hacker interface for Imperial programs." "No, but I bet your new datapad does." "But I don't have the hacker data on this thing." Kirney waved it around in the air. Alison sighed. "But I have a datapad interface. You can hook your datapad to my laptop and access it through there." "And if that doesn't-" "WILL YOU TWO STOP IT!" Morwen placed herself between the two. "Ever since we started this mission, you two have been at each other's throats!" "That's because this one doesn't know that working as a team means working as a TEAM." "No, it's because this one here doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut, and away from others." Alison's eyes slanted, and Morwen knew that something more than words had just passed between the two. She watched as how, in a matter of seconds, Alison's face went from shock, to pain, to anger. Kirney watched with a smug look on her face, and Alison's eyes got darker. Without warning, Alison pounced onto the Wraith, a cry of outrage escaping from her mouth. The sword clattered to the ground as she jumped onto Kirney, her hands reaching to her neck. They both went to the ground, and all Morwen could do was hope that no one heard them, and look for a way to break them up.
