Project Boussh: Epilogue: Inconceivable! By Vickie Boyd Vickie and Kelly sat on a retaining wall high above the ocean. Their legs dangled over the edge of the cliff. They could hear the water crashing on the rocks below. "It's so soothing." "What is?" "The sound of the ocean." "Yeah, especially without all those Ewoks yubbing." She grinned. Vickie looked out over the water. The breeze blew across her face and through her short brown hair. "So much has happened." "You don't know the half of it," Kelly groaned. "Half of what?" Kelly winced. She had been meaning to tell her of what had happened, but there hadn't been time yet. "Pash kissed me." "I'm not surprised." "He thought I was you." That certainly caught her off guard. "He what?!" "Thought I was you. Sith, I knew this would piss you off." "No, I'm not pissed. I'm just shocked he'd do it at all." Silence. "I kissed him back." This day was going southward very fast. "You... you kissed him back. And he thought you were me. Oh tawg. Does he know the truth now?" She shrugged. "I guess so, especially after Psycho boy shot me out of the sky." Vickie nodded. Her eyes caught sight of another chunk of the Admonitor hitting the atmosphere. "So, how was it?" "How was what?" "The kiss." Kelly closed her eyes. She didn't have many memories of her own, but that was one she truly enjoyed. "It was innocent," she said quietly. "So soft and passionate." "Figures," Vickie mumbled. Her clone grinned. "You know. I really wish I had known then I was a clone." "Why's that?" "There are LOTS of bedrooms in this castle." She wiggled her eyebrows. Vickie groaned. They sat quietly for a long while. Kelly finally realized that Vickie was crying. "What's wrong?" "Nothing," she replied wiping the tears away. She pulled her goggles back down over her eyes and looked out over the ocean. "Vickie...." "So much has happened. Nothing is going to be the same anymore." "It'd be boring if it was." "I happen to like boring." "That's not all, is it?" She shook her head, almost imperceptibly in this light. "All those people," she whispered. "Alison..." Her voice caught. She'd barely gotten to know the exuberant young woman. Pash had told her how well she handled herself when he had taken them food. When they captured the Fel clone. Then, at the cabin, the book she and Wes had written for her. "I wish I still had the book. It's probably been destroyed by now." Kelly searched Vickie's memories and saw it. "1000 ways not to fall down big holes". "Maybe they kept it on Alison's laptop." "You haven't heard? 'Bago go boom. Nick destroyed it." "Yuck." More silence. "Can I ask you a question?" "You can if you're able," Vickie quipped. Kelly grinned. "Anyway... I was just wondering... Since I really don't belong here..." "You want to go back with Pash." "And the others. I want to learn how to use the Force. I want to fly an X-Wing. I..." "You want to be with Pash." Vickie hadn't looked at her at all. She knew what her "twin" wanted. Same thing as she did. But, she had obligations. Kelly doesn't. "Don't lie to a Jedi. Especially one who is you." Kelly blushed. Vickie grinned. "Not to worry. I'll talk to Wedge in the morning." She looked out over the water. The moon reflected off the waves. They sat in silence. "Do you feel it?" "Yes." "It's calling." "I know... is there a way to stop it?" Vickie shrugged. "I don't know. We can release it..." "How?" The original opened her mouth, took a deep breath and SCREAMED. The sound echoed off the cliff face. The clone grinned and followed suit. Their screams were the only sound, other than the crashing waves. When they ran out of breath, the merely refilled their lungs and did it again. Becki and Thayer were wandering through the garden. They heard the screams and went to investigate. "Who is that," Thayer asked. Becki strained her eyes. "It looks like Vickie and Kelly." "The Jedi and her clone? Why are they out here screaming?" She shrugged. "I have no idea." Thayer chuckled. "Perhaps I should dub those the Cliffs of Insanity. What do you think, my love?" Becki chuckled. "Perfect."
