Project Boussh: Gand On The Sand - Part 3 by Josh Nolan "Any luck yet, Piggy?" Voort saBinring took a few moments analysing the flickering display before he looked up. "Nothing yet, Nick. It would appear our friend 'Bill Skywalker' has been incommunicado these past few days - I can't find anything to track him with. I have had similar success tracking ImpStar1138, but since I *know* they have been in contact in the last couple of days, they must have some very heavy security." "Imperial tech?" Nick asked curiously. "Possibly. I don't believe your technology's capable of hiding from ours." "I'll let you get back to it, then," said Nick, and wandered out of the room. As he did so, the phone began ringing, so Nick picked up the handset. "Hello, Nick speaking," he said, noting the STD pips as he did so. "Nick? It's Josh here." "Josh? I thought you were supposed to be coming back on the weekend." "Well, that was the plan, but I've had to chauffer a Findsman." "So where are you now?" "I can't tell you that - operational security, all that. I'm just checking in. And has Piggy noted any spacecraft over the Nullabor?" Nick frowned. "The Nullabor? What the hell are you doing out there?" "Security, dude. Ooryl dragged me to the middle of nowhere a couple of nights ago, and we had a bit of a weird sighting. Seemed like an A-Wing and a B-Wing had a bit of a rendezvous. Ooryl tells me the pilots, uh, had a bit more than that. And then the B-Wing took off and headed off kind of eastward. Maybe northeast." Nick frowned, and looked in the general direction of the part of the backyard that served as a starship parking lot. Brad had left in his B-Wing earlier that morning, moaning about how he couldn't blow up Bill Skywalker's place. Nick hadn't thought to check the direction that the heavy fighter had taken, but suspicion began to grow in his mind... and then he remembered Brad's guardedness around Piggy. This was all starting to sound very strange... "Anyway, Nick, we've got a pile of fanatic Farmboy fans on our tail - Ooryl reckons we should lure 'em off somewhere where the bodies won't be found. Gotta go." "Good luck. Are you armed?" "Got one of Ooryl's spares. The uber-Gand's packing, of course. Only had 'em on stun so far. Talk to you soon." Josh hung up, and Nick walked to the back door, regarding the space the B-Wing was missing from thoughtfully...
