Project Boussh: Death Becomes Her by Vickie Boyd His mind snapped awake. Where was he? What was his mission? Slowly he opened his eyes. He was on a transport of some sort. It was luxuriously apportioned. Was he already on his mission? Turning his head, he came to a conclusion. Yes, his mission had begun. Korak sat beside Josh, watching over him. The human had proven himself. He had risen from the dead. None of his tribe had done that before. He was proud of Josh. He noticed Josh's hand move and stood. <"Be still, Friend Josh. I will get Lady Jedi to..."> His sentence was cut short as Josh sat up and grabbed his blaster from its holster. "Die Rebel scum!" Josh pulled the trigger and shot Korak in the chest. A flood of emotions suddenly came to Vickie as she sat in the lounge. Anger, worry and fear. Then she heard the shot. She scrambled to her feet and ran back to the room where Korak and Josh were sequestered. The sight before her confused her. Josh stood over Korak with a blaster in his hand. She looked down to see the smoking hole in the center of the Ewok's body. "Crispy," she said in a curious and questioning tone. He looked at her, noting the Imperial doctor attire. "Traitor to the Empire," he yelled as he leveled the blaster on her and fired. With a speed she'd never known before, Vickie thumbed on the lightsaber that had been in her hand. She brought the purple blade up to block the shots. They ricocheted around the room, scorching the walls. "Sith. Josh, fight the stormie!" "What are you talking about," he asked in a rather fake British accent. She blinked. He sounded nothing like Josh. Something was wrong. He was holding the blaster in his right hand. "Josh is left handed," she mumbled to herself. "That means..." Joosh fired again. "You aren't Josh." She let the shots bounce off her Force shield. The clone was stunned. His eyes narrowed. "Jedi," he hissed. He bent down and picked up the knife from the Ewok's body and rushed her. Quickly she backpedaled. She brought her blade down from her upper right to lower left in a clockwise motion to block the knife's strike. Pushing the blade away, she thumbed the switch on her lightsaber up to a more powerful setting. Joosh brought the blade back over his head to take another stab at her. "You will die by my hand, Rebel Jedi." "Like Hoth I will," she said. She brought her blade up from her right hip to her left shoulder, through the clone. He stood with the knife still hovering in the air. A look of pure shock covered his face. He didn't utter a word as his body fell into two pieces. "What the?!" She turned around to see Wes standing with his blaster trained on her. "Wes, it's not what you think. That was a clone. It wasn't Josh. He killed Korak." He didn't lower the blaster as he stepped past Joosh's body over to where the Ewok lay. "Sith, he didn't have a chance." "You have to believe me," she said frantically. "He's right handed. Josh is left handed. Please believe me." Wes put his blaster in his hip holster. "I believe you. Nice job." He used a toe to push the knife from the dead clone's hand. Vickie looked down and actually saw the body for the first time. "Oh TAWG." She slumped onto her knees. "I killed him," she said softly. "If you hadn't, he would have killed you." He came over and put a hand on her shoulder. Hobbie's voice suddenly came over the shipwide comm. "Guys, you need to come take a look at this." Wes held out a hand to her. "Come on. If I don't get back up there, he's sure to fly us into an asteroid." She took his hand and allowed him to pull her to her feet. "Yeah," she said sadly. Turning around, she pushed the tears from her eyes. "Let's go."
